Zonify's content protection makes it harder to copy your product photos and descriptions. Switch off right-click, text selection, image dragging, copying and developer tool shortcuts, one by one. It stops casual copying. It can't stop someone determined, and we'll say so plainly.

What content protection does
Content protection is a small script on your store's pages that switches off some of the browser's normal actions. It runs through the same app embed as Zonify's country and IP blocking. If no protection is switched on, no protection script is sent to your store at all.
When someone tries a blocked action, a short message you write can appear in the corner of the page, such as “Content is protected”.
Five switches, each on its own
Switch on only what you need. Each one saves as soon as you flip it.
Disable right-click
Stops the right-click menu, including “Save image as”. Links and images still click as normal.
Disable text selection
Stops highlighting text on the page. Text inside form fields, like the address box, stays selectable.
Stop image dragging
Stops dragging an image out of the page to save it. Clicking an image still opens the product.
Disable copying
Stops copy and cut outside form fields, including keyboard shortcuts. Pasting always works, so shoppers can paste a discount code.
Block developer tool shortcuts
Stops keyboard shortcuts such as F12. The browser menu can still open developer tools.

Anyone can take a screenshot of your page, on any device.
The page source
Your images and text are sent to every visitor's browser. The browser menu can still show the page source and developer tools.
Turning off JavaScript
Content protection is a script. With scripts switched off, it doesn't run.
Saving the whole page
Browsers can save a complete page, images included.
Copies from elsewhere
Photos that appear in search results, ads or social posts can be taken from there.
Protection that stays out of shoppers' way
Shoppers copy a product name to compare prices, select text to translate it, and paste discount codes. Zonify keeps the important things working: form fields stay selectable, pasting always works, images stay clickable, and content protection doesn't run on Shopify's checkout pages.
A sensible start is Disable right-click and Stop image dragging, which protect your photos. Leave text selection and copying off unless you see a real problem. The guide to disabling right-click covers watermarks and other ways to protect your work alongside it.
Turn on content protection in three steps

Install Zonify
Install it free from the Shopify App Store. It asks for no access to your orders, products or customers, because it doesn't need any.

Turn on the app embed
In your theme editor, open App embeds and switch Zonify on. Content protection runs through it.

Switch on what you need
Open Content protection in Zonify, flip the switches you want and write your message. Changes apply on the next page load.

Can I disable right-click on Shopify without editing code?
Yes. Install Zonify, turn on its app embed in your theme editor, and switch on Disable right-click under Content protection. There's no code to paste into your theme.
Does disabling right-click affect SEO?
Content protection doesn't hide or change your page's content. Your text and images are still in the page, where search engines can read them. It only switches off some browser actions for visitors.
Can I show a message when someone tries to copy?
Yes. Under What visitors see, write a short message, such as “Content is protected”. It appears in the corner of the page when someone tries an action you switched off.
Is content protection included for free?
Yes. Zonify is free to install, and content protection is included along with country blocking, IP blocking and analytics.
